Built at Filton for BOAC and f/f 17.12.58 & delivered to Heathrow 1.1.59. Leased out to BEAC for Nice and Copenhagen services during 1961. Leased to British Eagle 13.9.63 as their first Britannia and entered service 3.11.63 named Enterprise. Later named Ajax. Sold 18.8.68 and Re-Regd 9.5.69 to Monarch Airlines Ltd and delivered to Luton 10.5.69 entering service a week later. Operated last flight 13.10.74 for Northeast Airlines to Lisbon. Leased to Invicta Airlines 13.12.74 to 10.3.75 with cabin modified for freight flights to Europe, Africa & Middle East. Last flight Dublin - Tripoli - Manston 14.2.75 and ferried to Luton 10.3.75 for storage. Resprayed back in Monarch livery and flown intoDuxford from Luton 28.6.75 for Duxford Aviation Society preservation. Total hours 35,739 and 10.834 landings.
