Now owned by the Duxford Aviation Society, G-AVMU was initially Regd 11.5.67 (CofR No: R.9599/1) to BEAC although the CofA not issued until 17.3.69 and delivered 19.3.69. Configured with 97 seats it was used on internal UK routes, together with Germany and Ireland. Named County of Dorset. When BEAC merged with BOAC, it was Re-Regd 1.4.74 (CofR No: R.9599/2) to British Airways Board. Name amended to British Airways plc 22.3.84 and the CofR No to G-AVMU/R2 22.3.89. Last revenue earning flight Dusseldorf to Birmingham 16.10.92. Positioned next day to Manchester 17.10.92 and ferried to Hurn for storage 29.10.92. Formally WFU at Hurn and allocated to DAS 29.10.92 and flown in from there on 4.3.93. CofR Cld 12.7.93. Flown for a total of 40,279 hours and made 45,540 landings. Since exhibition at Duxford it has been used for static promotional TV & Film use in videos and advertising.
