Originally ordered under AM Contract No: B103375/40 and built at Heaton Chapek, Stockport with serial DT989 as an F.1. Taken on charge at Fairey, Hayes 21.7.44. Delivered to 766 Sqdn at Inskip 12.9.45. With 766 Sqdn Lossiemouth in 2.46. To 767 Sqdn Easthaven later that month. Moved to Milltown 15.7.46 until 11.47. To RDU Stretton and then to RDU Anthorn 16.8.48. To AHU Abbotsinch 1.49. Sold back to Fairey at Ringway and converted to TT.1. Sold to Sweden 28.6.50 & Regd SE-BRG 20.9.50 to Svensk Flygtjanst AB, Stockholm. Operated in support of Swedish Navy on target-towing duties. Cld 3.6.64 on transfer to Luftfartsmuseet, Arlanda. Moved to B.Lowgren, Bromma 10.68 for restoration. Stored in barn on edge of airfield at Ska Edeby Airport. Offered for sale 4.02. Shipped in via Immingham Docks 9.2.04 and roaded to Duxford for Aircraft Restoration Co the next day.
