Ordered under MoS Contract No: 6/Acft/10501/CB.7(a) for Royal Navy. Built at Christchurch and taken on charge 16.2.56 as XG613 for Type trials with MoS Controller, Aircraft. To RAE Bedford 2.7.57 for catapault trials. Returned to deH at Christchurch 17.7.57 for repairs and modifications. To C Sqdn A&AEE Boscombe Down 16.9.58 for handling trials of pylon tanks. To RAE Bedford 15.10.58 for continued drop tank and catapault trials. Returned to deH Christchurch 10.11.58 for repairs and trial installation of audio and frangible visor and then back to RAE Bedford 2.2.60. Various interchanges between RAE and Christchurch for further trials. SOC and donated to IWM but roaded from RAE Bedford to Shuttleworth Collection, Old Warden on loan 22.9.69. Later roaded to Duxford.
